Cassovar complex:
The largest polyfunctional project in Košice.
On the location of the former Košice brewery, on the boundary between the Old and New Town, formed by the terrain fracture, building operations of the polyfunctional complex are ready to be carried out. The name of the complex derives from a brand of beer brewed on this very location as recently as 15 years ago.
A monumental 60-meter stack, an administration office building, dating back to 1903, with its beautiful facades, fragments of underground arch facilities as well as St Florian´s chapel are the elements which bring uniqueness into this project. These artifacts of the history blend, in unrepeatable way, with modern, state-of-the-art architecture of new buildings incorporated into the location in a very sensitive way. Functional aspect of the project represents a lifestyle of a modern society which mixes everyday life, work and relax within a single facility.
The whole complex comprises up to 85.000 m2 of floors area and provides comfortable accommodation for the REZIDENCIA inhabitants in as many as 88 apartments. Furthermore, administration officers can find pleasant working environment in here. The complexity of the project is supported by RETAIL facilities, including shops, variety of services, places to relax, cafés, restaurants as well as a typical beerhouse. A 250-bed congress hotel is projected to be an inseparable part of the complex. This part of the complex remains in a decision-making process in connection with further development in the complex environs.
Traffic infrastructure is going to be very well taken care of, including about 750 of underground parking places. The location is accessible for all means of transport. It takes only a 7-minute walk to reach the very heart of The Old Town of Košice – St Elisabeth’s Cathedral. Further 7 minutes of strolling later and you‘ll find yourself at the railway and bus stations. Visitors who use cars will, after 200 m, be able to access the inner city road system with all the major entrances and exits in and out of the city accessible. Local bus, tram and trolleybus stops are situated in a short distance from the complex (approximately 100 – 200 m). Despite other basic civic facilities being either in a close proximity or within a walking distance from the complex, Cassovar is the location with a comfortable and trouble-free car access and a high number of parking places.
